The Drill

When words turn into weapons, the beat doesn’t just move crowds. It fuels conflict. The Drill takes you inside a world driven by love for music, and hate for each other.

The Format
The Drill is an unflinching documentary that dives into the world of Dutch drill rap a scene where music, pride, and violence collide. Through the stories of three young rappers, Realest, Takerisk, and Gogetter, the series explores how beats can become battlefields and lyrics can turn into lifelines. They speak openly about loyalty, fear, and the fine line between fame and survival. Rather than judging, The Drill exposes the social and emotional mechanisms that pull young people into this world — where every word can be a weapon.

How we made it
Access to the drill scene doesn’t come easily. Our approach was to work from the inside out collaborating with the very creators who usually film the artists’ own music videos. These local filmmakers became our bridge, opening doors that normally stay shut to journalists or camera crews. Their presence allowed the directors to capture the raw energy, emotion, and contradictions of a world where every shot, both in life and on camera, matters. The result: an unfiltered look at a culture rarely seen from this close.
Content discovery
The Drill is designed to spark conversation. Pplacing the drill movement not only on screen, but at the center of public debate. From talk show tables to social feeds, the film invites policymakers, parents, artists, and audiences to confront the uncomfortable questions it raises: How does music become a weapon? And what responsibility do we share in disarming it? By bridging documentary storytelling with cultural conversation, The Drill brings its impact far beyond the screen.
